About Lynn
Lynn's had a pretty interesting life (I just love writing about myself in the third-person)! When her mother tells people this, she is using the word 'interesting' as in 'not up to par with our family's social or moral standing.' Whatever.
She's worked as a runway model, text book writer, technical writer, and an English teacher at a boarding school for troubled teens, not to mention so many high-paying, short-term consultant jobs that make her resume look like she's un-hirable. In her youth, she worked as a speech writer for the Southern Legislative Conference and had the opportunity to work with notables such as Henry Kissinger, Alexander Haig, and Dean Rusk.
Lynn is a graduate of Reinhardt College and Oglethorpe University. She managed to maintain a GPA at least high enough to graduate Pseudo Cum Laude.
Lynn has one daughter, Hannah, that she's been raising by herself since Hannah was about eight months old. She is now sixteen, and Lynn couldn't be more blessed... except for the "I want to drive" part!
Lynn's Gypsy Tendencies seem to take over every few months or so, and she has to go out and see the world. She's been all over the planet and wishes to continue doing so, even though the last time she went on a tour of Eastern Europe, her friend that was house-sitting caught her house on fire! She's even entertained the idea of asking Oprah to let her teach English at her school in Africa! The economy's probably better there, anyway!
Lynn has two children's books under consideration, but there's no deal yet. YAWN!
Ok. 'They,' (whoever 'they' are), said I should put my awards and stuff on this page, so here they are:
- Oglethorpe Scholars Award (two years)
- Sidney Lanier Poetry Award (two years)
- Member of Harvard Model Senate, Cambridge, MA
- Prentice Hall's Achievement Award... this one says 'Ad Augusta Per Augusta' on it... I don't even know what that means.
- The Cobb County Music Teachers award for 'Superior' for playing the piano sometime back in the 80s.
- Oh! And, I've also got some kindergarten attendance awards, but I don't think those count.
So, there ya go!
